I read your blog posts about the dhcp issues. Wish I had something helpful to suggest beyond the replies you've gotten. Looks like you're just oh so close. Have you tried the Ubuntu forums? Great thing about open-source--there's a zillion helpful folks out there.

I haven't had any problems with LTSP or the thin clients, but I have a Dell Optiplex desktop at home that refuses to respond to mouse clicks after a few minutes of use. I've tried Ubuntu 7.10 and 8.04. I also installed OpenSUSE 10.2 and got the same results, so I think it's some issue with the hardware configuration rather than being an Ubuntu problem.

If I come across anything that might be helpful for your problem I'll pass it on.

BTW, I've embedded my Twitter feed on here. If you do Twitter you're welcome to follow me at jerrycobbs.

Hi James! Sorry to be a long while getting back to you. I've been pretty busy with some other stuff, but Project TREE is still alive and well! I'd love to chat with you sometime about some possibilities for Project TREE and your school. Sounds like you're already familiar with Edubuntu and what it can do.

I went to your website and it is awesome! I am a podcast nut, so I downloaded your casts and I'm going to listen this week while I'm driving. I forwarded the link to a couple of colleagues who I know will love your site.

Been pretty busy the last while with my "day job," but I hope to start posting some stuff on here about Project TREE in particular and open source in general. My sister's company, Aetos Systems, is the corporate partner for Project TREE, and she has been getting a huge favorable response to some contacts she's been making for us. So we are hoping that things are really going to take off this fall. We already have at least two schools who are trying to get things approved for some PT classrooms, and secure some funding for the installation costs, etc.

I didn't see a location on your blog site (maybe I overlooked). Where are you from?
